The flat cap, in soft cotton corduroy. It keeps the same low, traditional shape, the short stitched-down peak and the clean curved crown, but cuts it in a warm ribbed corduroy, the cloth for cold mornings and grey afternoons. Where the wool herringbone is for town, this is the one you reach for at the weekend.

Corduroy has a warmth all its own. The ribbed cotton is soft in the hand, holds its shape, and settles and softens the more you wear it, so it only feels more like yours with time. Pair it with a heavy coat and boots, or a jumper on a slow Sunday walk. Easy, understated, and quietly handsome.

Made to be worn often and kept for years, in the spirit of buying fewer, better things. An everyday cap, not a fashion piece.

  • Traditional flat cap shape, low profile with a short, stitched-down peak
  • Soft ribbed cotton corduroy
  • Softens and settles beautifully with wear
  • Made for cold mornings, weekend walks and everyday wear

Care: brush gently to lift the pile, spot clean with a damp cloth, do not machine wash or tumble dry.

Cloth & make

Judged in the hand, not on a screen.

Every piece in the range is chosen the old-fashioned way: by handle, weight and finish. Honest wools and tweeds with proper depth of colour, herringbones that catch the light, linings that sit flat and stitching that holds its line.

It is a slower way to build a range, and a smaller one. We think that is rather the point. Cloth like this softens and settles with wear, which is exactly what something worth keeping should do.
